SpeedDome is Western Australia’s only combined indoor cycling velodrome and rollersports complex.
Like most modern velodromes it features steeply banked oval tracks, consisting of two 180-degree circular bends connected by two straights.
Speeddome has been the training group for a number of Olympians including double gold medalist Ryan Bayley and regularly hosts international teams including England, New Zealand and Japan.
Since opening to the public in November 1989, the SpeedDome has played host to numerous state, national and international events including the prestigious 1997 UCI World Track Cycling Championships.
It was also built to provide both recreational cycling and rollerskating.
The SpeedDome is part of the WA Sport Centre Trust, a statutory authority of the Government of Western Australia
The SpeedDome was developed from a venture between the State Government and the Shire of Swan. It is situated in Midvale, 15km east of the city centre.
